Smartphone use has been skyrocketing over the past few years, and recently it was reported that more than half of all Americans now own one of these increasingly popular devices. In fact, in 2010, Morgan Stanley predicted that the number of mobile users would eclipse desktop users by 2015. A follow-up report was done in 2012 by ComScore showing that Morgan Stanley may have been incorrect; instead of 2015, mobile users are on path to surpass desktop users in 2014.
